YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Directed by Youth, for Les Cheneaux Youth
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is comprised of area youths and functions as a grant review board. YAC is responsible for evaluating and making recommendations to the LCCF Board of Trustees regarding grant requests for youth-related programs.
Developing Future Civic Leaders
YAC utilizes the energy and intelligence of young people to help solve the problems and challenges young people share. YAC’s purpose is to develop our future civic leaders and social problem-solvers by involving students in the grant-making work of community foundations.
The Les Cheneaux Youth Fund was started with a $150,00 challenge grant from the Kellogg Foundation. That endowed fund has grown to $190,000 today and provides interest of about $7000 each year to award as grants.
